Description
Puerto Rican Emeralds are small hummingbirds with stripey tails. Like other hummingbirds, they are attracted to nectar-filled flowers and insects. They zip around very quickly and are tough to see well without photographs or a hummingbird feeder. I camped out by big flowers and hoped for the best! This species is endemic to Puerto Rico, which means that it is found no where else on Earth!
